Indian squash players Ananya Narayanan, Pooja Arthi Raghu, and Anika Dubey secured victories in the women's first round of the HCL Squash PSA Challenger Tour in Chennai. The tournament also saw international players from Sri Lanka, Egypt, Spain, Malaysia, Kuwait, and Scotland competing in both men's and women's categories.
Indian squash players Shameena Riaz and Om Semwal have caused significant upsets at the USD 15,000 HCL-SRFI PSA Challenger tournament in Mumbai, defeating top seed Hayley Ward and third seed Diego Gobbi respectively. Riaz, a recent Asian Games team selection, rallied from a game down, while Semwal secured a five-game victory. Both players have now advanced to the quarterfinals.
Sanya Vats is the only Indian player to qualify for the semifinals of the HCL Squash PSA Challenger Tour in Chennai, defeating compatriot Unnati Tripathi in the quarterfinals. She is set to face top seed Rouqaia Othman of Egypt in the next round.
Suraj Kumar Chand was the only Indian player to advance to the semi-finals of the HCL Squash PSA Challenger Tour at the Indian Squash Academy.
